In 2008 the Elephant Parade visited Antwerp, starting on 5 September until November 5. Over 60 art elephants were shown to the Belgium public before being auctioned off at the Antwerp Zoo. The auction, that was held in November, resulted in over EUR 477.900. Almost twice the amount that was raised in Rotterdam. The showpiece of the auction was ‘Trompe Cousue’ an elephant with an outer layer of lead designed by George de Decker from Belgium. According to art expert Baenarts: “a piece which belongs in a museum.”
