Each creature of object symbolizes something positive tot bring to the elephant and its future. This is based on a biblical tale that the elephants are the people who God wanted to save at the time of the big flood (noah) and so turned them into elephants (Which didn't exist previously) so that they could join the other animals in he ark and be protected. The elephant is one of God's special creatures and therefore it is charmed."
