“My name is “Calico” which means “many colors”, so I wanted to bring that to this elephant. I was inspired by the suede patchwork jackets of the 1970s, it was a “groovy” time! The childlike brushstrokes took me back to a time when I painted things at school for my mom. I’m proud to present: Groovy Gary!” Groovy Gary was brought to life by Calico Cooper with the help of Christina Bunkers, Kayla Carlson, and Claire Miller.
