Communications & Marketing Internship
Chiang Mai, Thailand
Elephant Parade® is a social enterprise and runs the world’s largest art exhibition of decorated elephant statues. Created by artists and celebrities, each Elephant Parade statue is a unique art piece. The life-size, baby elephant statues are exhibited in international cities and raise awareness for the need of elephant conservation. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate who can commit to two to five full days a week at our office in Chiang Mai. At the end of your placement you will have acquired in depth knowledge in communication, marketing and operations. Positive attitude is a must! Elephant Parade is a very international bunch (half Thai and half Western) so you’ll be able to enjoy all the fun and creative work that’s being done here with a unique set of colleagues.

Desired Skills and Experience
As a marketing intern, you’re expected to have a good understanding of the social media ecosystem, with a particular emphasis placed on that of Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter. Elephant Parade caters to both the artistic world and the business world, as such you’ll be experiencing first-hand how to approach artists, and be documenting their every move. With their consent of course.
You will gain experience in the following responsibilities:
- Social Media: update and maintain Elephant Parade’s social media presence via the communications plan, analyse social media trends.
- Content: draft questions and blog posts. Develop communications materials (letters of greeting, posters, flyers, reports and other associated items). Assist in the planning, writing and execution of the monthly eNewsletter.
- Press coverage: draft, distribute and pitch press releases in English and Thai.
- Collaborations: reach out to potential leads for partnership, competitions, sponsorship and event opportunities and maintain relationships with existing leads as directed.
- Events: Collaborate with the Marketing Team to support planning, and execute, events and sampling/outreach gifting efforts
- Assistant: support the Communications and Marketing team in the smooth running of all administrative, communications and marketing activity. •
- Internal communications: manage and train the team to use Slack and inform the team of any updates to the system.
Requirements
- Thai student or working visa.
- Solid understanding of available tools and platforms in the social media space.
- You must be able to commit to at least 20 hours per week for minimum 4 months and up.
Languages
- English and Thai, working proficiency
- Any other language is a plus.
Skills
- Good understanding of Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter ecosystems.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Premiere proficiency is definite plus.
