"What if the elephant would make a sound?” That was the first thing that came into my mind when I started working on the elephant. As a musician, I have chosen to add a musical touch to the elephant to make it “sing” by wrapping the elephant’s body with an elegant chime instrument made of copper. Copper tubes, a tiny piece of raw material which are normally used in air conditioning and refrigerating systems. By turning the elephant into a concrete-like metallic texture, it implies that nature is being over-ruled by the industrialisation and civilisation of human beings. Asian Elephants nowadays live in shadows, are mistreated and unheard of their need’s. We take pleasure in our daily lives at the cost of another living species unconsciously. The copper tubes around the elephant’s body symbolise a cry for help from this endangered species.:
