"The creation of this elephant is an image of life seen through the eye of an elephant. A life, which in many aspects, is affected by humans and human activity. The painting illustrates the way humankind continuously is taking up the elephants’ territories creating an imbalance and unequal relationship between humans and elephants. This dilemma is illustrated, both through images of elephants being mistreated, enslaved and used as tourist entertainment, as well as through positive images of elephants living happily in a natural environment given back to them by people trying to bring back a life balance between humans, animals and nature.Â
