1828, 26, 27 April: 'In the Minderbroeders church there was an elephant woman aged 18 years old; she was nine feet high and weighed 8000 pounds. This animal was tame and performed various exercises with its snout, which served him for one hand. Her legs were equally thick at the top and bottom without knees.
