"We both have daughters whose obsession with elephants could be seen as maniacal, so it started there, Sunny saw the pre press – we applied with a mad idea to recreate the festival elephants of India – we need something to bring out the joy and colour of the traditional designs but in a new and contemporary manner. Swarovski and Johny have collaborated over many years on fashion and music projects and have kindly agreed to support the project with the Swarovski Elements donation. The concept was born and through a process of hand rendering and cutting edge industrial creativity the motifs and patterns were created and applied to create this homage to the essential spirit and joy surrounding the Indian Elephant during significant celebrations in the many Indian cultures. We wanted to draw attention to the Elephants' significance at the heart of India, and remind people what a huge loss this would be to such a vibrant land."
