"As my work is known for its representation of Koi fish from the ‘Prosperity Collection’ and Feng Shui, it was important to me to also reflect this in her style. She is adorned with 35 koi fish swimming in a Northerly direction, which in Feng Shui numbers this tallies down to the number ‘8’, the recognized number for ‘Prosperity’, the name of my collection. Drawing from the principles of Feng Shui and my art, you will also notice that I have created swirls of water across the elephant and to create the illusion of the flowing water. Water carries energy and I wanted to show that by the combination of all these vital elements, Singapore is a vibrant, young country that is Prosperous with a strong multicultural element. She has a universal appeal, she is beautiful and elegant, and with her plume of feathers, she commands attention. She is the leader of the East. She is ‘Shivakari’…The Bringer of all things Auspicious."
