A Celebration of Elephant Art, Nature, and Community

Elephant Parade, the globally renowned open-air art exhibition, is set to transform Nijkerk into a vibrant cultural and artistic hub. From February 14 to April 4, 2025, the towns of Nijkerkerveen, Hoevelaken, and Nijkerk will host a stunning collection of hand-painted elephant statues, celebrating creativity, conservation, and community spirit.

This unique collaboration involves Nijkerk Cultuur en Creatief, Elephant Parade International, renowned artists Nicole des Bouvrie and Arne Hak, and the Municipality of Nijkerk. Together, they aim to inspire action and awareness for the protection of endangered Asian elephants.

A Unique Cultural Event in Nijkerk

Elephant Parade Nijkerk 2025 will present a remarkable collection of 25 life-sized elephant statues, each one uniquely painted by artists, celebrities, and local talent. These statues will highlight important conservation themes while bringing color and creativity to the streets of Nijkerk.
The exhibition route starts on February 14, 2025, and takes visitors on a journey through the charming neighborhoods of Nijkerkerveen, Hoevelaken, and Nijkerk, offering an enriching experience of art and culture in these picturesque locations.


Highlights of Elephant Parade Nijkerk 2025

Royal Transport Unveiling
The festivities begin early with the unveiling of the ‘Royal Transport with the Elephant King’ sculpture on December 6, 2024, at the Nijkerk Town Hall. This captivating artwork symbolizes connection and cultural richness, offering a majestic introduction to the upcoming parade.

Coloring Contest
To engage the local community, Elephant Parade will host a coloring contest. Participants can download a digital template and submit their designs by April 4, 2025. The winning entry will be painted onto a 20cm elephant statue, allowing the creativity of Nijkerk’s residents to shine on the global stage.

Live-painting
